About G. PRASANNA KUMAR

Dr. G. Prasanna Kumar joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1975 and was allotted to Haryana cadre. He holds post graduate degrees in Chemistry (from Kerala University) and Economics (Panjab University, Chandigarh) and Ph.D. in Economics from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala. His Ph.D. thesis was titled A Critique of the Petroleum Pricing Policy of Government of India. After serving in several important administrative positions in the Government of Haryana and Government of India he retired as Additional Chief Secretary to Government of Haryana on 31 October 2010. Presently Dr. Kumar is Director General, Haryana Institute of Public Administration, Gurugram. During his tenure with Kochi Refineries Ltd., Kerala, he also worked as Chairman, Kochi Refineries School Board for nearly five years. Subsequently he held the charge of Chairman, Haryana School Education Board with distinction and introduced radical changes in the curriculum and conduct of examinations. Dr. Prasanna Kumar has authored a book titled Petroleum Pricing in India published in 2000. He is also associated with Jan Kalyan Shiksha Samity as Member, Governing Body and their civil service coaching academy Samkalp as guest faculty. He is also functioning as Vice Chairman, Indian Institute of Public Administration, Haryana Regional Branch.
